Today is Spencer and my 7 year anniversary! Each year, my memories of that day get less and less... sad to say. THAT'S WHY WE TAKE PICTURES! I do have a few memories, though, and I think I should write them THIS year. Who knows, by year 8 they may have faded, too.
I remember I got my eyebrows waxed 3 days before the wedding. The lady BURNED me and I had 2 huge red lines on my face. Spencer affectionately nick-named me 'Stripe' . Luckily those ugly stripes scabbed up and fell off the MORNING OF the wedding. Spence still calls me 'Stripe' every now and again.
I remember I was trying to do my hair when Spencer arrived at our house... about 2 hours before he was supposed to! (Cute, huh?) He just sat downstairs in his suit and waited for me to get ready.
I remember driving 4 hours to Manti in the white Explorer with Spencer. I painted my nails while we listened to music and talked and laughed.
I remember how calm and peaceful and beautiful the Temple was. We were the 2nd couple (out of 2!) to get married that day, so we had a lot of attention. It was fun. I remember trying to not step on my white dress as we hiked up (what seemed like) 38,000 steps. Spence held my hand the whole time.

I remember the whole picture-time after the ceremony. It was FREEZING and really windy, but it was fun. My cute mom was there to help us... mostly me. She made sure my lipstick wasn't on my teeth and she made sure my hair didn't have fly-aways... important stuff like that. Cute Penny.
I remember after pictures, Spence and I drove home, but only after we stopped at Subway. I had a tuna sandwich and chips... delicious.
I remember the reception pretty clearly.... we have a lot of it on video! The usual... sign in book, quilts made by friends and family, tableware display, flowers, pictures, music, delicious food. (stuffed mushrooms were a HIT!) Just a normal Mormon reception. I remember having little disposable cameras on each table... people had a lot of fun with those.
I remember stopping the line to cut the cake and in our hurry to get back to the line, Spence tripped on my huge dress. He didn't fall all the way down, but it was definately noticeable. We had a good laugh.
After the line died down, we had an impromptu dance. I danced with my sweet grandpa, Par. He twirled me around to the music of Frank Sinatra... it was such a special moment to me. I love my grandpa so much! I also danced with my cute dad who made sure his little girl had a wonderful day... that's another dance I'll never forget. I love my dad very much, too.
I remember driving away in our (now decorated with mustard and balloons and oreos and shaving cream) white explorer. I remeber looking back at my family and seeing them all outside waving and cheering. Spence and I are so lucky to have such loving families!
What a perfect wedding day! Every girl's dream.
I'm so glad it was SPENCE that I got to marry that day. I am the LUCKIEST!! He is the most loving, wonderful husband and he treats me like gold! I am still sooooo crazy about him.
I love you so so so much, Spencer... and I always will.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Sweet-heart!

Holy cow! Time sure does fly...I still remember coming to your reception like what the heck? My friends are starting to get married?! Soooo glad you found Spencer, too! We luff him!
P.S. But not in that awkward "I love my friend's husband" kinda way. :)
I am so glad that Allison said yes to marrying me, and not standing me up at the alter. That was the real reason why I was at her house and drove to Manti with her. I still call her stripe now, but it is for different reasons.
I know this sounds cheesy, but I still love to watch our wedding video and remember how much fun we had back then. I am so in love with Allison and I can't imagine a day without her. Seven years seems like a long time, and it is. But Allison has made it so much fun, and even though she might say that she is the funny one in the relationship, she is right. I'll just leave it at that.
Thanks for all the laughs Al.
Love you tons.
Spencer
Awwwwww!!!! You guys are so awesome!!!! I love you both... in the "awkward I love my friends" way!
Lance and I want to be Allison and Spence when we grow up.
I remember your wedding. Lots of fun. I had to leave Manti early to get to football practice, but Mimi didn't even mind that I missed the family pictures (what does that tell ya?).
Isn't Stripe the name of the most evil Gremlin?
[Seriously, lose the 'word verification': iwqumutx]
AAAaaaawwww that is so sweet! :) We just had our 3rd anniversary in Sept and I didn't even post. I'm a LOSER! Maybe I'll have to go back and do something cool like that. :) Missed ya at the gym today but it looks like you had a good excuse. ;)
I added you to my friends list. Hope that's ok!
For someone who says the memories get less and less, you have remembered A LOT. The important things (like tuna sandwiches) always stay in our memory. Cute post, cute lady. :o)
Ohhhh, you guys are too cute. Happy anniversary (a few days late).
Seven years go by way to fast. Happy Anniversary. I'm glad that you have some memory of that special day. You picture is beautiful!
