That'll do, Dog.

This is how our day began... a full-on brawl over the vacuum. All I could think about is how much longer these two would FIGHT to do chores. Wouldn't it be so great if they were like this all their life (without all the screaming and hitting, of course.)?

Then I started thinking their fighting must be my fault! Maybe if I vacuumed more, it wouldn't be such a 'special occasion'! Anyway, I went on with the rest of my day, thinking about my cute little helpers and how happy I am they love to help their mom. With a smile on my face I vacuumed, swept, mopped (in some places 3 times!) and dusted. The house looked pretty dang good, if I do say so myself. So with a pat on my own back I decided to take a break from the grind and do some Digital Scrapbooking of my sweet little vacuumers, whom I couldn't stop thinking about. I was on the computer for no more than 15 minutes when Charlie, the dog, came downstairs. I was a little suprised because the dog is not allowed downstairs and he knows that... if there is one thing we have sucessfully traind our dog to do, it is to stay upstairs. So I grabbed him and ran him up to his kenel (time out). Little did I know, Charlie was trying to tattle to me about what my little boys were up to. When I reached the top of the stairs, I saw a HUGEMONGOUS mess... Dog food from the laundryroom, through the kitchen, through the familyroom and down the hall to the bedrooms.

With tears and some yelling, I started sweeping up the mess. After a minute, I decided to get my camera. I'll want to remember this in 14 years... right? I was shaking so much, I only got a couple pics. You can't really see the teeny doggie bits in the second one, but just know they're there...they're EVERYWHERE! I think/hope we've cleaned them all up, but they're so small, I'm sure it will be a week or two before Charlie has found them all.

OH! And the stinkers trashed the DVDs, too. These boys might be grounded for the rest of their lives... I don't know yet. I'm still too caught-up in the fury to tell if I'm thinking straight.

I would like to give a shout-out to Charlie... you may be small, stinky, and have those gross eye-boogers, but you saved the day today. Who knows what those two little boys would have done if they had had another 5 minutes to themselves! You're pretty much LASSIE to me now.
Thanks, Charlie.

April Fooled!

Those Moores! Always one up on us! Thanks for the laugh, guys. Love ya lots!

Here's the proof, Spencer!

There are a lot of mythical creatures in our world... Fairies, Leprechauns,
Gnomes, Midgets, Orks, Unicorns, Wizards, Elizabeth Smart's kidnapper,
Nessie (our underwater ally), Hippies, Elves,
Womping Willows, Flying Nuns,
Giants, Dragons, Mermaids, Astronauts, Gypsies, ...
I'm here to tell you Hoppy Taws are REAL!

Hoppy Taws are real, but only if you believe.

18 long months

I know I'm more than a week late, but here they are! My mom and dad are finally home! Holy cow! It's been a long 18 months. Since they've been gone 2 of their grand-babies were born, we got a dog, Porter started walking, Jack became potty-trained, the Delta Center has changed it's name to Energy Solutions Arena, Dave grew out his hair, Mark Eubank and Dick Norse have retired, the Moores and now the Kimballs have a Wii (not to mention guitar hero!), the Marshal and Lindsey moved to Chicago, the Legacy Highway is well on it's way, Catherine fell and broke her wrist, I have died my hair black and back to blonde, Spencer shaved his gotee once and re-grew it, Frank has been on 178 trips (I can't back that one up)... what else has happened? (please comment and tell me what I've left out.) I feel like so much has happened, but being with Mimi and Ed is so normal and comfortable and fun... some things never change. WELCOME BACK, MOM AND DAD!

Zoo Day

A week ago Jack, Porter and I went to the Hogle Zoo with Jen, James, Ben, Drew, Joey, Dave, Jana, Zolie, and Mandy. It was great fun, mostly. There was one instance where Jack lost his shoe, but Ben found it for him. (How do you lose a shoe at the Zoo? We're lucky an aligator didn't eat it!)
We're so glad Dave and Jana and Zolie were here to spend some time with us. We sure love them!

Easter

I know these aren't the best pictures (is that an alligator on Jack's head?!) but these are the best of the bunch. (Pathetic I know... they're just naughty boys... what else can I say?) I wanted to make a page, though, because when else, besides Easter, can I use flowers and ribbons and frilly stuff? (I tried to keep it non-pink!)

Happy Birthday, Porter!

Our little Porter's 2! We had a fun day with the little guy. We started his birthday with presents... a ball, a lawnmower-bubble thingie, a couple movies and (the jewel) an Aquadoodle. We took the kids to the movie theater... we saw Horton Hears a Who and loved it. Then we had a birthday dinner for Porter complete with waffles, sausage, hashbrowns, juice, (Porter loves breakfast) and of course CAKE! He got a bubble machine from his aunt Jenny and that really got the party started. They played with it for over an hour... even the neighbor kids came over for a piece of the action. It was really fun... especially for Porter. I'm sure he had a great birthday.

March '08 is FINALLY here!

Words cannot describe how much my parents mean to me and Spence and the boys, or how much we have missed our Mimi and Ed the last 18 months. Only TWO more days, guys! See you soon! I can't wait.
